6 Spring Wardrobe Staples

While classic staples—like the perfect pair of jeans, crisp button-downs, and preppy loafers—are mainstays in any capsule wardrobe, my essentials for the seasons ahead venture beyond the expected. From trench coats with special details, to statement blouses and chic slingbacks, here's a roundup of six spring wardrobe staples:

Trench Coat - Be prepared for April showers with a chic trench coat to top off your looks and keep you dry. I'm a bit of a trench coat collector with styles to complement almost any look. This one is my favorite long version for pairing with dresses, this trench is the most versatile one in my closet, this one is dark and supremely practical, and this one is a floral dream!

Statement Blouses - I love a statement blouse this time of year. Perfect for a brunch with the girls or even an office look, bow neck tops like mine here are ladylike and versatile. I also love an eyelet top like this (just arrived and it's stunning! size up), this classic lace top, this opulent jacquard blouse, and this happy blue floral top.

White Denim - It's time to make sure you have a fresh pair of white denim for spring. I love wearing mine with cotton shirts and cozy sweaters alike, as they instantly spring-ify any look. (For example.) My current favorite are these 90's style jeans, but I'm also loving the legs-for-days look of these flares! (As with almost all white jeans, size up!)

Slingbacks - It's not quite warm enough for open toes, but you're ready for a lighter look? Slingbacks are a favorite for transitional weather and the best pairs in my own collection include these pointed toe pumps, these patent flats, and these iconic cap toe flats (less expensive here)! These raffia heels are on my wishlist!

Sparkle-y Earrings - My hair always gets darker over the winter months, so while I'm waiting for summer highlights I like to wear a bit more sparkle near my face to brighten my complexion. Colorful Bags - A happy pop of color can make any neutral outfit shine, and this season there are tons of beautiful bags on offer in every color of the rainbow.
