The Midi Skirt Edit
A great midi skirt is one of those rare pieces that can do it all—elegant enough for evenings out, versatile enough for everyday wear, and effortlessly adaptable from season to season with just a switch of top or shoes. In this roundup, I’ve pulled together timeless staples you’ll reach for again and again, along with styles featuring special details and embellishments perfect for parties or a glamorous getaway.
- I've been raving about this skirt for a month and finally got some nice photos of it last week. Fortunately, it's on sale and in stock in almost all sizes. I love it with a little tank top, a sweater tee (seen above), or a big chunky cashmere when the weather turns cold. The warm almond hue is the perfect description and it makes me think of chai lattes, or you can opt for this striking pink version to up the glam. Tuck your top in with a belt, or wear with knitwear that hits at the hip. It's a gorgeous piece that you'll reach for again and again. (My heels are several years old from Sarah Flint, I always say buy her limited edition perfect pumps. She just debuted this pair this week which would be amazing with the skirt!)
- This feminine watercolor floral midi skirt is a 4 season workhorse. Pair with burgundy, camel or brown in autumn/winter, then shift to pairing with rose/white/ivory in spring/summer.
- I have the dress version of this skirt and the fabric is beautiful. This is a great way to wear berry tones if you love them but don't find them flattering next to your face! (That's always my tactic if I love a color that doesn't flatter my skin tone.)
- A good slip skirt can be styled for the office or date night. I'd wear with this jacket/cardigan for work, and take of the jacket showing this top and add a pendant necklace for a nice dinner out.
- I usually think of La DoubleJ for vacation pieces but love this jacquard pencil skirt which works on a glam getaway or at the office! How chic would it look with this cream knit and this cream wool trench?!
- This denim midi (size down) is on sale and the perfect thing for country getaways this fall with a chunky aran sweater and boots. I just got the mini version to wear with this gingham top.
- This dramatic bow skirt reminds me of Carolina Herrera, but for a fraction of the price. I love the color combo and styling it with a white button down. Will be a go-to for the holiday party circuit. No notes!
- This leopard skirt reminds me of an Emilia Wickstead piece that I desperately wanted and sold out in my size. Would be amazing with a black turtleneck and my go-to black knee-high boots!
- Fluttery silk midi skirts are such a favorite in my wardrobe. I always get a lot of questions when I wear this Etro skirt, and have styled it in all four seasons. This floral silk blend skirt from Ulla Johnson has the same vibe and is just beautiful. (I wore it to dinner last week, seen here!) Buy it now so you don't have FOMO later as you'll see this one styled again and again and again! (And if it's not in your budget, this one is under $100 and gives the same look!)
- A-line skirts in suede or corduroy are just asking to be paired with a cozy sweater for fall weekends spent antiquing.
- Skirts with special details always call to me, and I love the lace graphic on this cotton skirt. I'd pair with a chocolate turtleneck, knee high boots and equestrian style bag. (One left of this wool-silk Valentino stunner here!)
- This plaid kick pleat skirt is a dead-ringer for a favorite Gucci skirt I've owned for years. (My skirt seen here and here.) Chic for autumn/winter date nights or work!
- I'll forever be an Etro fangirl, and this skirt is no exception. This maxi has Etro vibes for a fraction of the price.
- I own this cotton twill skirt in several colors, and love the black moody floral version which is on sale for under $150!
- If you like something a little architectural and edgy, consider this plaid skirt. Love it with the matching top!
- I personally love all things chartreuse and this wrap skirt is a beauty! Pair with a softer shade sweater, or go all in with this cashmere crewneck!
