You asked, I Answered: The Best Finds Under $250

Earlier this week I sent a survey to a small group of readers, and I have genuinely loved reading every response. (If you'd like to share your feedback and haven't yet, this is the survey link!) A few requests came up again and again: more finds under $250, more long-sleeved options, ideas for getting some of my favorite looks for less, and quality everyday pieces that still work for playground trips, errands, working around the house, and all the other things real life requires. So this post is for you! I pulled together a mix of beautiful late-summer finds, pieces that will transition easily into fall, and hardworking wardrobe staples that feel special without being overly precious. Best of all, nearly everything is under $250 and offers truly wonderful quality for the price.

  • This white eyelet dress has been a reader favorite since I first mentioned it in May, and it looks great on women of all sizes. (I'm wearing my normal size.)
  • If you love Ulla Johnson their online sample sale is a must-visit destination this weekend. this cami midi dress a must. (The moody floral works well into autumn.) Also available in a cotton blouse that I love, as seen in this transitional outfit here.
  • Italian-made and impossibly chic, these chocolate suede tie sandals go with everything from a white dress to linen pants. So beautiful and only $125!
  • Navy stripes never go wrong, and this cotton shirtdress has such a flattering fit-and-flare shape. The sleeves hit at the elbow, which feels modern and is great if you like to cover your arms.
  • Bold and sculptural, this green onyx dome ring adds instant polish to any outfit. (It reminds me of my green amethyst ring, which I wear almost daily!)
  • This silky button-up looks like Ralph Lauren Collection for $128, BUT I tried several colors, and only like the ivory, peppercorn, and navy. (There's something off about the black.) It's also meant to be oversized, but I recommend sizing down and tucking into white shorts now, or your favorite jean or high waisted trouser later. (Plus, unlike most silk, cupro is machine washable.)
  • You all have been loving this white dress (on sale for $105), and Hill House does it again with this chocolate ditsy smocked dress perfect for transitioning into fall. (This quilted jacket in the same print is another under $250 winner!)
  • Plaid in a linen blend feels so fresh for early fall. This swingy midi dress has a clean square neckline and A-line silhouette that flatters everyone. Just a tad over $250, but an incredible style for the price I had to give you the heads up!
  • Headed to the beach or pool this month? This cotton voile tunic dress (15% off with STACIE15) is the chicest late-summer coverup.
  • The right belt can be an outfit -maker. Two favorites include this gorgeous waist belt with a statement buckle, and this striped belt.
  • If you love the look of my bag but not the price, this raffia box bag is for you. The cognac leather trim plus raffia make it so versatile, and it feels special with dresses, jeans, or even a simple cotton blouse.
  • One-shoulder and floral for under $250? This linen maxi dress is a stunner for late summer weddings, garden parties, or a dinner date. Pair with gold hoops and a straw clutch.
  • For an effortless late summer look, this striped long-sleeved shirtdress in cotton-linen is so easy. The drawcord waist is flattering, and it looks great with cognac sandals for errands or a chunky heel for dinner.
  • Rich dark brown suede and a perfectly slouchy shape make this tote look far more expensive than it is. Great for work, weekends, and everything in between. The interior zip pouch is a nice touch.
  • Comfortable enough for chasing kids around yet polished enough for errands, this organic cotton maxi skirt has a pull-on shirred waist and hidden pockets. Pair with a fitted tee and flat sandals.
  • A lightweight silk blouse in the prettiest pale blue. The puffed sleeves and split neckline make it feminine without being fussy. Gorgeous with trousers for work or white jeans on the weekend.
  • Handmade in NYC, I just got these freshwater pearl drop earrings which are so elegant and unique. I'd wear them with a simple dress or a crisp collared shirt and jeans for an effortless look.
  • If you need a do-everything bag, this roomy tote is beautiful and 70% off. The cognac leather and cream canvas are the perfect transitional pairing, but I would definitely wear this year-round!
  • Red check for fall? Yes please. This cotton midi skirt has such a charming, countryside feel. Tuck in a cream knit and add wellies for apple picking season.
  • This crewneck tee is 100% cotton, Fair Trade certified, and the kind of quality white tee you'll reach for constantly. (Note the almost 3,000 five star reviews!) Its perfectly fitted and great for layering, so at $20 I got several to wear under sweaters this fall/winter.
  • You already know I love the cashmere silk tee in every color. (I like to size up.) I also own this cashmere tee, which is one of the best quality-to-price finds out there
  • Olive suede sneakers feel fresh for late summer into fall. These Gola sneakers have that cool retro vibe with the gum sole, and look great with both jeans and casual dresses. Such a good price point too. (I mentioned these boat shoes a few days ago, and still can't get over that they're $40!)
  • Treat yourself to this striped Pima cotton pajama set. Lake's cotton is impossibly soft (like the cashmere of cotton, truly) and the long-sleeve, long-pant style is perfect for cooler nights ahead.
  • Every jewelry box needs a great pair of pearl studs, and these are enexpected and modern. Understated enough for the school run, pretty enough for dinner.
  • Already thinking about fall, and this chocolate wool mini skirt with topstitch detailing is calling my name. (On sale for $70!) Pair with tights, tall boots, and a chunky turtleneck for a never-fail autumn outfit formula.
  • Several of you asked about affordable luggage with great quality. This check-in suitcase and carry-on has a hard polycarbonate shell, spinner wheels, and smart interior compartments at a fraction of designer prices. (And the checked bag weighs under 10 pounds, so more of your weight allowance can go towards the contents not the case!)
  • Great jeans under $100 exist! These wide-leg jeans have just the right amount of stretch and a flattering high rise. Pair with a tucked-in tee and slide sandals for August, then swap in booties and a sweater in September.
  • Nothing says late summer Americana like this flag crewneck in sweatshirt form. Pop it on after a swim, and it's cozy enough for fall weekends with jeans and a Barbour too.
  • The twisted halter neckline on this striped sweater tank is such a fun detail. Pair it with high waisted denim like I did here.
  • I always love a polo, but especially as we start feeling that back-to-school pull. Preppy and polished, this cashmere short sleeve polo feels luxurious but won't break the bank. Similarly this cotton-cashmere rugby polo is cozy, cute, and perfect for playground days and weekend errands.
  • My go-to after a shower is this body lotion with niacinamide and peptides. It absorbs quickly (no sticky feeling), leaves skin so nourished and soft, and it's fragrance free. I bought a couple to give as gifts, people always go wild over this lotion!
