Everything I Packed for a Week in the Bahamas
With two feet of snow at home we're excited to escape for a week of winter sun! This is our third trip as a family to Harbour Island in the Bahamas. We started going when our son was only 3 months old and love how family-friendly it is. This packing list is full of outfits for enjoying pink sand beaches, turquoise waters, and alfresco dinners. I packed loads of beautiful dresses and many can do double duty as bathing suit cover-ups when paired with sandals, or work for a nice dinner if worn with heels. (I love that people really dress for dinner on the island.)
From fabulous pieces for dinner dates to the everyday staples I pack for beach days, I managed to fit it all into one 30-inch checked bag and my carry-on. Of course, I pack more than most would since I'm a fashion blogger, but I like to feature a variety of styles so there is something for everyone! So whether you're prepping for your own holiday getaway or simply looking to build your spring wardrobe, here’s everything I brought with me for a magical week on Harbour Island! I hope you find something fun for your next warm-weather escape too.

Dresses
- I'm all about pale blue-greens right now and this floral midi dress is so easy to wear and can be dressed up or down.
- I got so many compliments the day I wore this striped caftan. The kind where someone also asks the brand and if it's from the current season. Great over a swimsuit or dressed up for dinner.
- This gossamer one-shoulder dress is super flattering and perfect for a romantic dinner.
- Ulla Johnson is known for her batik prints, and this blue and white version is one of the prettiest, freshest versions I've seen from her. (Size down.)
- This lightweight smocked maxi dress has so many beautiful colors, it will go with any of your resort accessories.
- I'm such a sucker for a scarf print and this empire waist dress is a beautiful one.
- This silk-linen caftan is a floaty dream, keeping you covered while hinting at your swimwear underneath.
- I lost my mind over this berry-colored strapless dress. It's super lightweight, and I can't wait to wear it for a Saturday dinner at The Landing (our favorite restaurant).
- A long-sleeved silk mini dress will always be a favorite in my book. (Size up in this brand.) I'm 5'9" and it's pretty short. Not great when you're chasing a toddler but I love it otherwise.
- This blue halter dress feels like something Grace Kelly would wear. The definition of understated glamour.
- I got this crochet mini dress for my Bahamas trip last year and have worn it countless times since. You bet it's coming with me again!
- The simple cut of this cotton dress is quintessential barefoot island elegance in my book. (I have the same dress in an older pattern.)
- Every vacation suitcase needs a little white dress in it, and I packed this one (size down) for throwing on over a swimsuit, and this one for dinner alfresco.
- Obsessed with the beautiful embroidery on this maxi dress. It looks so much more expensive than it's price tag.
Matching Sets
These deserve their own section since nothing is easier than a matching set on vacation and I packed so many good sets!
- This block print shell and cropped pant feel subtly retro, yet are totally current. I took a size XS on top, S on bottom.
- This silk pajama top and matching trousers feel laid back yet refined.
- I love an oversized linen shirt as a beach coverup, and even moreso when it comes with matching shorts.
- Love this easy and affordable knit top and pants for covering up in between dips in the pool.
Tops
- This crisp button-up is chic tucked into jeans on travel days, and over a swimsuit at the beach. (I brought the blue stripe, but really want the white and sold blue too!)
- I love this short-sleeved white shirt with a statement midi skirt.
- This gauzy block print blouse is a favorite for wearing with white shorts and a bikini.
- I pack two of this thick white tank top because I wear them so much.
Bottoms
- I packed these perfect linen pants in white and green. They're just the thing to wear down to the beach at sunrise or for a lazy breakfast. They do tend to bag out after a couple wears but look fabulous again after a wash and hanging to dry.
- These crisp cream trousers (going fast!) hit at the perfect spot on your ankle and are chic for a dinner date.
- No one does dramatic vacation-ready designs like Zimmermann and I plan to wear this cascading silk organza skirt with a simple white tank to dinner.
- This basketweave skirt is meant for a tropical getaway. (It comes with little cotton shorts, but I like throwing mine over a swimsuit.)
- Wrap skirts seem to be making a comeback, and I packed this and this, both of which look equally fantastic with swimsuits or button-up shirts.
Swimwear and Coverups
- I love the elegant gathered bustline on this one-piece, which looks amazing on the beach and worn as a top with skirts. (The fabric is nice and thick, and the gathers are very flattering on small busts.)
- So many of my girlfriends swear by this tank suit - it really holds you in and lifts you up in all the right ways.
- This one shoulder swimsuit is very slimming and secure. Perfect for chasing a toddler, and the bow on the shoulder is removable!
- This brown bikini (top and bottom) is surprisingly flattering and secure when you're splashing in the waves. The dark color really works with pale skin. I took an XS on top and S on bottom.
- I'm never without a Lisa de Fernandez bikini and this Eres strapless swimsuit in several colors.
- Nothing like Pucci on the beach. I packed this halter swimsuit, and two older Pucci pareos (new season color here!)
- I love the nautical print and preppy hues on this cotton pareo as well.
- I always pack a white triangle bikini on warm weather trips. I don't usually wear it on its own but it's a great foundation for a lot of beach looks.
Jewelry
- I haven't taken off this cocktail ring since it arrived a couple weeks ago. I love how substantial it is, yet it's so comfortable to wear I forget it's on my finger. I got the green amethyst which is one of my favorite stones and just goes with everything. (Scroll down for a close up shot!) Currently 20% off, my readers can get an additional $100 off your order over $500 with code "GiftfromStacie". I brought this amazing necklace as well.
- My everyday diamond studs (they just went on sale!) are a favorite for looking put together, and they're resilient enough to wear for every activity, whether I'm swimming in saltwater or sweating on the courts! I have the 4ct size and they're incredible.
- This little gold and pearl necklace is a modern take on a classic and is only $50! I love wearing it with these Bottega huggie earrings for a fab high-low mix.
- I love statement pieces on vacation, and no one does it quite like Lizzie Fortunato. I'm packing this, this, and this from her collection.
- My long pale green beaded necklace is back in stock, such an easy piece to throw on and upgrade your outfit!
Shoes
- These minimalist flats feel like jewelry for your feet and go with everything from shorts to skirts to dresses.
- My favorite vacation heel, these go with everything, are super comfortable, and won't sink into the grass! (Also on sale right now - I packed the white and just bought the sand version!)
- These wrap sandals are super comfortable and are an ideal flat for evening looks.
- These gold thong sandals also go with everything and are under $100. (Best for normal or narrow feet.)
- These slides are an investment, but are so comfortable I can walk all day in them.
- My Gucci bamboo sandals are sold out, but these are the closest I could find to mine. So chic.
- My favorite wedge espadrilles are selling out, but if your size is available, they feel like you're walking on air! (Shorter version here.)
- I always get a lot of questions about my fuchsia floral stilettos from Sarah Flint. (Found one pair here!) They are a couple years old and sold out, but they are currently available in gold which I wear all the time! (And are currently on sale.)
Bags
- Obsessed with the little shells that adorn this straw tote! It makes even the simplest linen ensemble feel extra beachy.
- This big slouchy straw bag will be my constant companion on beach days.
- This little wicker clutch holds all your evening essentials and goes with everything in your suitcase.
- This mini bag is a wild splurge but the shape just works with so many things in my closet. (A very affordable lookalike here.)
- I love bringing my Rocio shell clutch (sold out) on seaside getaways, but this one is nearly identical and less than half the price.
- I've had this Loewe straw tote for 3 seasons and even though it travels everywhere with me it still looks brand new. So resilient, I'm amazed.
