Everything I Packed for Autumn in England

Heading to London and the Cotswolds in autumn calls for a suitcase filled with cozy layers, rich textures, and timeless classics. I packed everything from polished pieces for dinners in London to countryside staples for long walks, pub lunches, and exploring the prettiest Cotswold villages. Somehow, I managed to fit it all into one 30-inch checked bag, my carry-on, and this tote as my personal item. Of course, I pack more than most would since I'm a fashion blogger, but I love bringing a variety of styles so (hopefully!) there is something for everyone. Whether you're planning your own autumn escape to England or simply looking for inspiration as you transition your wardrobe into the new season, here’s everything I brought with me for a beautiful week in London and the Cotswolds.

• Cozy and feminine, this cream ribbed knit dress looked gorgeous with tall suede boots and a statement belt or necklace. It's the kind of piece you throw on and instantly feel pulled together.
• Ruffled silk in a moody paisley print makes this dress perfect for a special outing.
• This black tweed maxi dress was my hardest-working piece on the trip. The button-front and functional pockets make it so easy, and the elasticated back gives it a beautiful shape. Wore it with boots all week.
• Burgundy and lace at the hem make this wool midi skirt impossibly romantic for autumn. Pair with the matching turtleneck and suede boots for a cozy pub dinner.
• A navy silk slip dress is the ultimate layering piece for travel. I wore it under blazers and sweaters, and the washable silk makes packing (and unpacking!) so stress-free.
• Pair this chocolate striped midi skirt with the matching wrap top for a polished set, or wear it on its own with a simple cashmere crewneck and boots.
• For a special dinner in the countryside, this silk patchwork dress is an absolute showstopper. The autumnal floral print feels so romantic, and it pairs perfectly with a simple clutch and heels.
• This stunning velvet cocktail dress offers full-on glamour, and is surprisingly comfortable. I love the unexpected hue!

• Every autumn wardrobe needs a great trench coat, and this one is perfection. I wore it over everything from dresses to jeans, and it was ideal for those unpredictable English weather days.
• The pink plaid details on this brown corduroy jacket are so charming. I wore it over sweaters for countryside walks and it pairs beautifully with jeans and boots for that quintessential English autumn look.
• I'm obsessed with this cropped tweed jacket made with British Linton Tweeds. The blue, cream and gold tones are gorgeous over dresses or with trousers for a polished London lunch.
• Such a clever alternative to a full-length trench, this camel short trench has a contrast collar and swing silhouette that looked polished over dresses for a day exploring London.
• I love the smiley pocket detail on this checked blazer. The wool-cashmere blend kept me warm at country pubs, and it layers perfectly over knits and button-downs.
• You really can't visit the English countryside without a Barbour. The classic olive is endlessly versatile, and I reached for it constantly over knits and wellies on rainy mornings.
• This off-white waxed jacket is a fresher take on the classic Barbour. I love the corduroy collar, and it looked so chic for countryside walks paired with boots and a scarf.
• A collarless like this one feels so elevated with the leather trim detail. I paired it with simple trousers and boots for a refined countryside dinner look.
• If you love classic British style, this field blazer is a dream. The suede elbow patches and tailored fit look incredible over a turtleneck with denim and boots.

• Alex Mill's sweaters are insanely good for the price, and this cashmere crewneck sweater in a rich heathered brown is the coziest layer for autumn.
• This chunky cream Aran turtleneck has been a favorite several years running.
• Lightweight cashmere layers are a must and this sand colored crewneck and navy and camel striped number are great for layering under blazers and jackets, and both have wonderful quality for the price.
• Italian cashmere in a rich cable knit, this iconic crewneck sweater is the kind of piece you'll reach for year after year. (I have it in 5 colors, and packed the navy!)
• Fair Isle always feels right this time of year and I love the cream and berry colors in this cashmere cardigan. I also brought this old v-neck sweater (this has a similar vibe).
• Camel cable knit is very English countryside, and this wool-cashmere turtleneck lived up to the fantasy. Looked gorgeous with a paisley skirt and knee-high boots.
• Peridot green is such an unexpected autumn color, and this soft cashmere cardigan added a cheerful pop to overcast countryside days.

• The mother-of-pearl buttons on this ribbed henley are such a lovely detail. The cotton-silk blend is incredibly soft, and I wore it layered under blazers and on its own all week. (I also own and love this one for a more casual version.)
• I rely heavily on button ups this time of year and two of my favorites include this French blue button down and this white oxford. Both are slim cut and perfect for tucking into high-waisted skirts or your favorite denim.
• Similarly, striped shirts are a must and I packed this blue and white striped shirt and this brown striped poplin shirt.
• The velvet trim and ruffles on this polka dot blouse make it feel so special. Very cool with jeans or black cropped trousers and a heel.
• Found this vintage printed silk bow-tie blouse and it was made for autumn in England. The rich jewel tones look stunning tucked into high-waisted trousers or a suede skirt for a London gallery visit. (Gorgeous burgundy bow blouse here, or found a few vintage look-alikes here!)
• Two looks in one: this striped cotton shirt comes with a matching scarf you can tie at the neck or remove entirely. So clever for maximizing a travel wardrobe.
• Layering is everything in England, and this ivory cashmere silk sleeveless turtleneck was my secret weapon under blazers and sweaters. (So soft against the skin!) Same goes for this cashmere silk tee, the elevated basic I packed two of. Perfect under a blazer or on its own.

• I bought a beautiful suede skirt from Nour Hammour at the end of last season and have been eagerly awaiting the first fall day to pull it out. Everything this brand makes is exceptional and very well priced given the insane quality. (For example this and this, both on sale!)
• The pinch waist on these straight jeans is so flattering, and the light wash feels fresh for daytime with loafers and a cashmere sweater.
• Cascading ruffles and a pink floral print give this silk skirt so much movement. Beautiful with a simple knit on top for an autumn dinner or countryside event.
• Swishy and flattering, this dark denim skirt was one of my most-worn pieces. It looked fantastic with turtlenecks and tall boots for countryside pub lunches, and heels and a blouse in the city.
• If you haven't tried these straight leg jeans, you're missing out. The fit is perfection (check the length guide - comes in petite and tall!) and the heritage wash looks great dressed up or down.
• This beautiful embroidered skirt is an easy way to dress for dinner with a burgundy cashmere turtleneck and knee-high boots or slingback heels.

• These leopard ballet flats were my go-to for long days walking around London. They act as a neutral with practically everything and the suede feels so luxe.

• Leopard print suede pumps at a 70mm heel are the ideal going-out shoe. Comfortable enough for a full evening, and they act as a neutral with nearly everything in my suitcase.
• Brown suede loafers are an autumn in England essential. These went with everything from jeans to midi skirts, and the plush suede only gets better with wear.
• I've been reaching for these brown suede booties nonstop. The low block heel is comfortable enough for cobblestones, and they pair with everything from dresses to jeans.
• Burgundy suede slingbacks were the dressiest shoe I brought, and they paired beautifully with everything from midi skirts to tailored trousers for evenings out in London.
• When I needed a dressier shoe for dinner out, these gold heeled sandals were the obvious choice.
• On warmer autumn days, these tan slingback sandals were perfect with dresses and skirts. The low heel and padded insole make them a perfect easy dinner out option.

• That gold turnlock on this plum suede pochette is so elegant. The perfect evening bag for autumn, but worth noting it's much more purple/fuchsia than the photos suggest. (But I love the color so much!) I also packed this stunning macramé suede pouch for dinners out.
• Timeless and endlessly versatile, my brown leather shoulder bag went with literally every outfit I packed. The horsebit hardware feels so right for autumn.
• Sturdy, roomy, and endlessly practical, this canvas tote was my daytime carry-all for sightseeing. It fits everything you need (diapers! a camera!) and looks effortlessly chic with any outfit.
• My Herbag was the perfect travel companion for England. The canvas and leather combo is durable enough for the countryside yet polished enough for London restaurants.
• Slip this fabric clutch over your wrist for dinner in London or tuck it inside a larger bag during the day. So versatile for a trip where you need one bag to do it all. (And packs flat!)
• Sparkly beaded fringe makes this little mini bag the perfect going-out accessory. I brought it for a special evening in London and it added instant glamour.

• I always pack my three favorite everyday earrings: Classic round diamond studs (I have the 4ct), emerald-cut diamond huggies, and freshwater pearl studs with a modern gold setting. All three go with absolutely everything and feel effortlessly chic.
• I packed my vintage snake ring (which you can see in the photo above). This incredible ring is the closest I've found to mine!
• Tiger's eye feels so autumnal, and this station necklace sat perfectly at the collarbone over turtlenecks and under button downs.

• Handmade in NYC, these gold and pearl drop earrings elevated every outfit I packed. They look gorgeous with a simple sweater and jeans or dressed up for a candlelit pub dinner.
• This gold locket necklace has been a favorite for 5+ years. It holds tiny photos inside (they print them for you!) making it sentimental and beautiful. The slim profile layers perfectly with other chains or looks lovely on its own.
• A diamond tennis bracelet looks good with everything from workout attire to black tie.

• Cinching a dress or adding shape to an oversized sweater, this reversible scarf belt with this silk scarf pulled so many looks together. Two sides means double the styling options.
• Nothing says autumn in England like a plush merino scarf in rich tones. I bought this on my trip to England last year and reach for it constantly.
• The right sunglasses make an outfit and these oversized gold frames with a warm gradient lens make these sunglasses so flattering. These black frames are also fabulous.
• Tied loosely around my neck or tucked into a coat, this deep grenache fishnet scarf added the most beautiful pop of color to blazers or tied at the waist.
