Lady in Red: Bold Pieces to Wear All Season

Red is one of those colors that instantly makes an outfit feel more intentional, whether your style leans classic Americana, subtly romantic, or a little bit sexy. I especially love it this time of year paired with crisp white, natural raffia, warm camel, and easy summer denim. From polished dresses and cheerful knits to statement accessories that add just the right pop, these are the red pieces catching my eye now, plus a few ideas for how I’d style them.

A note on styling red: I rarely style red with black, as the combination can feel a bit too harsh or high-contrast for my taste. Instead, I love pairing red with softer, sun-washed neutrals like ivory, camel, raffia, navy, denim, and warm metallics, which make the color feel chic, fresh, and much easier to wear.

  • This romantic red midi dress is the kind of piece that stops people in their tracks. The mini smocking on the bodice is slimming and the gathered bust is so flattering. Beautiful on its own with a simple wrap sandal (these are walk-all-day comfortable) and a big straw bag or add a silk scarf tied at the waist for an extra pop.
  • Vacation-ready and so chic, this red chain-print one-piece swimsuit has a flattering halter neckline and sweet bow details. I'd pair it with a straw hat, the matching pareo, and oversized sunglasses poolside.
  • I love the sarong wrap detail that gives this red linen shirt dress shape and movement. Pair it with this little red, white and blue straw tote for casual days, and dress it up with this white clutch at night.
  • Statement-making in lipstick red, this fit-and-flare maxi has contoured seams that are incredibly flattering. Throw on a white linen blazer for the office, then swap for this diamond anchor pendant and these fabulous crochet wedge sandals for a dinner by the water.
  • Romantic and easy, this floral embroidered sundress has the prettiest dimensional details. The tie straps and pockets make it effortlessly wearable for farmers' markets, weekend brunches, or a European vacation.
  • This striped linen crochet polo is the essence of easy summer dressing. Pair with my favorite breezy mini skirt which is so good I have it in two colors (size up!), and simple gold T-strap sandals.
  • Effortless and so flattering, this botanical jersey maxi dress has pockets (always a win) and a ruched waist that looks great on everyone. Perfect for travel since it packs beautifully and never wrinkles.
  • This cotton-silk red midi has such beautiful movement with its tiered asymmetrical skirt. I have it in one of last year's colors and love the way it moves. (Take your larger size.) The silhouette is a blank canvas for fun accessories, whether you add this diamond pavé seashell bead to a gold chain for a coastal touch or flower appliqué heels for a garden party.
  • Bold and flattering, this red lace-up swimsuit (15% off with STACIE15) has great shaping and that square neck is universally gorgeous. Tie on this red and white cotton pareo for a day of sunny fun.
  • The pearl detail on this red linen kaftan is such a beautiful touch. It's the kind of elevated cover-up that works poolside with a swimsuit or over slim pants for a resort dinner. I'd pair it with a statement shell bag like this! (Can you believe the price??)
  • Nothing elevates an outfit like a statement clutch, and this red woven Bottega bag with the signature knot closure is a showstopper. Pair it with a white or black dress for instant glamour at your next event.
  • Sometimes the simplest shoe makes the biggest impact. These red flip flops are sleek, minimalist, and add a fun pop of color to denim cutoffs, a white sundress, or even tailored trousers.
  • Oh wait, I just found the wrap skirt version of the beautiful red chain print. I'd wear it with an oversized white button-up shirt and these strappy red kitten heels.
  • This rusty red raffia bag gives the look of this Chanel bag for a tiny fraction of the price. I love pairing statement bags like the one above or this woven leather number with simple dress silhouettes like this mini dress.
  • Stunning scalloped details elevate this red crochet midi dress beyond the ordinary. I'd wear it to dinner with simple bezel-set emerald-cut studs (the bezel will prevent snags on the delicate crochet!) and a luxe red leather clutch.
  • This easy red knit shift dress ($50 off with STACIE50) (on sale!) looks extra fresh paired with a basket inspired clutch.
  • Charming and so fun, these red bandana pull-on shorts are a great casual piece for Fourth of July, beach days, or running errands. I'd pair with a slouchy linen rollneck sweater for an effortless Americana look.
  • Picture this striped tiered maxi skirt (on sale!) with my favorite gold wrap sandals and a delicate creamy knit tank top.
  • So striking in person, this textured red maxi has a beautiful bias cut that skims without clinging. Wear it casually with flat sandals and this perfect striped sweater over your shoulders for an elevated day look.
  • The blue ric rac trim on this red shift dress gives it the sweetest Americana feel. Perfect for Fourth of July, summer parties, or anywhere you want to look polished without trying too hard.
  • I love the embroidered cutout sleeves on this cheerful red kaftan dress. It's the easiest throw-on-and-go piece for beach days, farmers markets, or lunch with friends. Add gold jewelry and you're done.
  • A red pair of shoes will add flair to any white or neutral outfit. These red tie sandals are a summer staple, and I love how these red canvas espadrilles add just enough height to elevate a sundress or cropped jeans. I'd pack either for a summer trip to Nantucket or the Amalfi Coast.
