Everything I Packed for 10 Days on the Amalfi Coast
To my mind, packing for a trip is half the fun and the below list is everything I packed for 10 days in and around Italy. This is both an easy resource for you if you spot something you love on my Instagram, and a checklist for me to make sure I don’t leave anything behind! All of this fits in a large zip top boat and tote (small enough to be my personal item - great for packing my big straw tote), this carry on and this checked bag, which is the maximum amount of luggage I ever like to travel with on a trip. I always pack my most special pieces plus the items I need to get me through the first 48-72 hours of the trip in my carry-on just in case the checked bag goes missing for a couple of days, and I highly recommend using apple air tags in your checked bag for extra peace of mind!
Find EVERYTHING I packed for 10 days in Italy below. I hope you find something you love for whatever you have planned for your summer!
Dresses
- I couldn't resist this sunny yellow embroidered dress with hand-sewn beading inspired by ancient Greek pottery. It's a showstopper for a seaside dinner with gold sandals and a straw clutch.
- I ordered this gorgeous printed halter maxi for our trip. The low back and halter neckline are so glamorous for a cliffside dinner on Capri. No necklace needed, just add gold earrings and heels.
- If you need one throw-on-and-go dress for vacation, this cherry striped shift dress is it. Over a bikini to lunch, with espadrilles to the market, or with gold hoops for an aperitivo. The canvas gets softer with every wash.
- The dupioni silk on this pink shift dress gives it such a beautiful sheen and structure. A sleek mini that works for daytime sightseeing with flats or evening with statement earrings and a clutch.
- I'm obsessed with this metallic crochet maxi for a special evening on the Amalfi coast. The pink metallic knit catches the candlelight beautifully. Pair with strappy heels and simple gold jewelry for dinner al fresco.
- This red cotton midi dress is the kind of piece I reach for on repeat. The smocked bodice and tiered skirt are so flattering. Perfect with flat sandals for exploring Capri or dressed up with heels for dinner.
- A striped linen midi dress in the prettiest multi-color palette. The belted waist and full skirt feel so polished for a long lunch in Positano or a sunset stroll along the coast.
- Nothing says Italian summer quite like a white linen dress with crochet detailing. The A-line silhouette is so elegant. I'd wear this with tan leather sandals and a straw tote for a day by the sea.
- Half caftan, half shirtdress, this white eyelet caftan is the chicest coverup that doubles as a real outfit. Wear it over a swimsuit at the beach club or belted with sandals for exploring town.
- For a dress that won't wrinkle in your suitcase, this cream linen maxi is a dream. The crease-less fabric means you can go straight from the train to a seaside restaurant looking polished.
- I love the mixed-media detail on this cream maxi dress, with a stretchy jersey bodice and crisp poplin skirt. It's incredibly comfortable for long travel days but still looks put together with sandals and a raffia bag.
- Classic and charming, this white eyelet mini dress has the sweetest stand collar and side pockets. Perfect for a morning cappuccino and a wander through the piazza with ballet flats.
- The blue nautical appliqués on this cream maxi dress feel so Amalfi coast. The smocked waist keeps things effortless. Style with flat sandals and a straw bag for a boat day or seaside lunch.
- The floral 'Celestine' print on this midi dress is absolutely stunning, and the open back adds such drama. A special dress for a sunset dinner overlooking the water with strappy sandals.
- When in doubt, a breezy striped linen dress never lets you down. The relaxed scoop-neck silhouette is ideal for wandering coastal villages with flat sandals and a crossbody bag.
- The rope-strap detail on this mocha gingham midi dress is such a fun touch. It has pockets (always a win) and the fit-and-flare shape looks lovely with wedge espadrilles for a long Italian lunch.
- Bold blue ikat stripes make this cotton dress feel perfectly Mediterranean. I'd wear it with gold jewelry and leather sandals for everything from morning market visits to evening passeggiatas.
- Ann Mashburn's chambray dress has been a favorite for three years running and the romantic fit is ideal for island days. The belt lets you customize the silhouette, and it looks beautiful with espadrilles.
- Such a striking blue cotton silk dress with a tiered asymmetrical skirt that moves beautifully. The fitted bodice and lightweight voile fabric make it a standout for a special dinner on the coast.
- I've been eyeing this vibrant printed halter maxi for an evening in Positano. The colorful motif feels artistic and playful. Pair with gold hoops and strappy sandals for a memorable dinner look.
Sweaters & Tops
- La DoubleJ never disappoints with multi-way pieces, and this silk foulard top is no exception. Wear it one-shoulder with white pants for dinner in Positano, or tie it as a headscarf for exploring.
- The built-in cami on this crochet tee makes it so easy to throw on over a swimsuit or pair with linen pants for a long seaside lunch. The scalloped edges are so pretty.
- Every summer I reach for a pink striped button-down and this one is perfection. Wear it open over a tank and cutoffs, or tucked into a skirt for aperitivo.
- Billowy and lightweight, this linen blouse practically floats in the Italian breeze. I love it tucked into high-waisted trousers for dinner or worn loose over white shorts during the day.
- You can never go wrong with a crisp white linen shirt on vacation, and the Baird McNutt Irish linen on this one is incredibly soft. Perfect with jeans, shorts, or as a beach coverup.
- Sleek and minimal, this open-knit sweater tank looks polished tucked into a maxi skirt for evening or layered under a linen blazer. The linen blend keeps it cool in the heat.
- Julia Amory's square-neck tank is the kind of piece I pack multiples of. It's endlessly flattering tucked into skirts or under a blazer, and the stretch makes it comfortable for a full day of exploring.
- How sweet is the scalloped trim on this knit tank? The green is such a gorgeous shade for summer. I'd pair it with white linen pants and gold sandals for a Capri afternoon.
- An elevated basic I wear constantly, this cashmere-silk tee in navy is perfect with white jeans for exploring or tucked into a printed skirt for dinner. (I like to size up!)
- Effortless and breezy, this linen boatneck tee is ideal for a day wandering Amalfi villages. Pair with a straw bag and your favorite shorts for an easy, polished look.
- Perfect for cool evenings on the terrace, this fitted knit sweater in the prettiest periwinkle blue is lightweight enough to tuck into high-waisted pants without any bulk.
- I packed this lapis blue linen boyfriend shirt specifically for beach days. It looks amazing unbuttoned over a bikini or tied at the waist with white shorts.

- Tailored but easy, these pleated shorts from Max Mara are the elevated alternative to denim cutoffs. Style with a linen blouse and espadrilles for sightseeing.
- The medallion print on these kick-flare pants is so fun and feel very Amalfi to me. I'd wear them with a simple white tank and gold jewelry for a dinner out.
- My go-to white pant for summer, Julia Amory's Bell Pant has the most flattering subtle kick-flare. The twill fabric is a touch softer than the original and pairs beautifully with everything in this packing list.
- These buttery yellow linen wide-leg pants are the statement piece I'm most excited to wear. The belted waist and pressed pleats make them feel so polished with a simple white tee.
- Reliable and perfectly broken in, these straight-leg jeans are my travel day staple. The high-rise pinch waist is so flattering, and they look great with sneakers or loafers.
- Easy, lightweight, and packable, these drawstring linen pants are what I'll be wearing every morning for coffee on the terrace. They also double as a chic beach coverup over a swimsuit.
- Tory Burch's textured green knit skirt has the prettiest scalloped hem and moves beautifully. I'd wear it with a white tee and sandals for exploring Capri, or dress it up with a silk cami for dinner.
- Red is always a showstopper on the Amalfi Coast, and this wrap skirt in dupioni silk is perfect for evening. Pair with a simple white tank, gold sandals, and statement earrings for dinner al fresco.
Swim & Coverups
- STYLEST's navy swimsuit (15% off with STACIE15) with the gold lace-up detail is both flattering and chic. The sculpting fit is incredibly supportive, and the square neck looks gorgeous peeking out under a coverup at a beach club. I brought it in navy and white!
- Etro's paisley cotton coverup is the kind of piece that makes you feel instantly glamorous walking from the pool to lunch. The warm orange tones are so beautiful against a tan.
- Eres never lets me down for a strapless option, and this gorgeous teal one-piece actually stays in place. The color is incredible against the blue sea, and I brought in green as well. It pairs beautifully with a printed wrap skirt.
- So fun and unexpected, this basket weave skirt from Coco Shop comes with jersey shorts underneath, making it perfect over a swimsuit at a beach club or with a tank for a casual lunch.
- Pucci's archival prints feel quintessentially Italian, and this turquoise pareo is the easiest thing to throw over a swimsuit. Knot it at the waist for a chic poolside look, then toss in your bag when you're done.
- That blooming tulip print on this La DoubleJ coverup is absolutely gorgeous in person. Lightweight cotton, made in Italy, and the kind of piece that transitions from the beach to an aperitivo without missing a beat.
Shoes
- Margaux's blue Palermo sandal is my ideal flat for long days of exploring. The cushioned insole makes all the difference on cobblestones, and the minimal straps look elegant with everything from dresses to linen pants.
- Raffia florals make these slide sandals from Tuckernuck so charming for summer. The slight block heel is comfortable enough for all day, and the blue tones pair perfectly with white linen or a printed dress.
- Handmade in Campania (right on the Amalfi Coast!), these gold T-strap sandals are a vacation essential. They dress up a simple sundress for dinner and look gorgeous with a red or white skirt.
- Sarah Flint's woven sandal in cognac has the most comfortable molded footbed, which is a must for walking around Positano. The hand-woven knot detail adds just enough interest to keep it from being basic.
- Chic and polished, these blue boat shoes are a refined take on a classic. I love them for travel days and casual mornings with white jeans or linen trousers. The cushioned sole feels like a sneaker.
- Saint Laurent's woven Tribute slides in off-white are the elevated flat I reach for with everything from a breezy dress to tailored shorts. The slight heel and Italian leather make them feel polished yet effortless.
- Ivory is my favorite neutral for summer, and these Palermo sandals from Margaux are endlessly versatile. Wear with a floral dress for dinner or linen pants for exploring. The cushioned insole is a dream on cobblestones.
- Veronica Beard's ecru slide sandal is the throw-on-and-go shoe I always pack. Patent leather elevates the minimal silhouette, and the hardware adds a nice touch. Great with skirts, dresses, or cropped pants.
- White wedges are a summer must, and these Aquazzura wedges with the knotted strap and raffia trim feel made for Italian evenings. They add height without sacrificing comfort, perfect for clifftop dinners in Positano.
- Colorful gemstone details make these thong sandals a vacation favorite. They add personality to a simple outfit (think white linen and a straw bag) and are flat enough for all-day wear exploring the coast.
- Lace-up Grecian sandals feel so right on the Amalfi Coast, and this flat sandal from Sarah Flint is actually handcrafted there. The saddle leather will patina beautifully over time. (If between sizes, size up!)
- The cheerful multicolor straps on these flat sandals make them my favorite walking shoe for cobblestone streets. They go with everything from linen dresses to white jeans and a breezy top.
- Wrap-tie sandals with a crochet strap feel so perfectly Capri. I plan to wear these with midi skirts and sundresses all trip long. The ankle tie is flattering and stays secure for walking.
- A wooden bead basket bag that feels like a piece of art. I'll carry this to dinner in Positano with a silk dress and gold earrings. The detachable charm is such a lovely detail.
Bags
- Navy rope detailing gives this cotton tote the most chic nautical feel. It fits everything for a day exploring (plus a 13-inch laptop for travel days). Wear crossbody or over the shoulder.
- Shell-covered and whimsical, this raffia tote is the ultimate beach-to-lunch bag on Capri. Pair with a caftan and flat sandals for an effortlessly coastal look.
- Hunting Season's handwoven basket tote is the kind of bag that makes a simple white dress feel incredibly polished. The leather straps add just enough structure. Perfect for market mornings and seaside lunches.
- Fringe raffia and a gold chain? Yes please. This mini tote is the dreamiest evening bag for Amalfi dinners. Tuck it under your arm with a silk slip dress and statement earrings.
- Ulla Johnson's woven white leather camera bag is hands-free and gorgeous, exactly what I want for wandering through Positano. The tubular crossbody strap is comfortable and the size holds all the essentials.

- Bottega's iconic woven clutch in this soft sage green is stunning for al fresco dinners. Pair with a white or navy dress and gold hoops for an elegant evening on the coast.
- Loro Piana's rattan pouch is so versatile. I tuck it inside a bigger tote by day, then carry it solo to dinner. The craftsmanship is exquisite and it goes with absolutely everything.
- Beaded florals and a fringe tassel give this blue bag the sweetest artisan feel. Wear it over one shoulder with a white linen dress for a pop of cerulean color at dinner.
- Polished but relaxed, this raffia box bag with cognac leather trim pairs beautifully with printed dresses, denim, or a crisp button-down. The structured shape keeps everything organized.
- Made in an Italian wicker workshop since the 1950s, this coral wicker clutch adds the prettiest pop of color to a simple outfit. Ideal for summer dinners and weekend brunch on the terrace.
Jewelry
- Timeless and brilliant, these diamond studs are the pair I wear every single day on vacation. They go from the pool to dinner seamlessly and catch the light so beautifully.
- Haverhill's sculptural green amethyst ring in 14k gold is my statement piece this trip. The soft green stone looks gorgeous against a tan and pairs with both gold and mixed metal jewelry.
- Sculptural gold knot earrings that elevate every outfit without trying. I wear these constantly, from beach cover-ups to evening dresses. They're the one pair I never travel without.
- Layer this birthstone pendant over a V-neck or open collar for a personal touch that sparkles. The diamond bail adds the most beautiful shimmer, especially in candlelight at dinner.
- Delicate yet sparkly, this moissanite tennis bracelet catches every bit of Italian sunshine. I stack it with my watch or wear it alone for a quiet bit of glamour day and night.
- There's something so Mediterranean about a shell pendant necklace on a cord. This one looks beautiful layered over linen or worn alone with a strapless dress in Positano. The adjustable cord makes it easy to style.
- Scattered diamonds on polished gold make these disc studs the earring I'll wear every single day in Italy. Understated enough for the beach, sparkly enough for dinner at Lo Scoglio.
Accessories
- White cat-eye frames scream Capri to me, and these sunglasses have that retro Italian glamour I love. They look incredible with a tan and a linen dress.
- Oversized square frames are my favorite for long days on the water, and this gold pair from Krewe feels polished without trying too hard. Great with a straw hat and caftan.
- Dôen's collaboration with Garrett Leight is gorgeous, and this tortoise cat-eye pair has the most flattering vintage silhouette. I'd wear these exploring Positano's winding streets.
- Rounded and a little bit retro, the black Ingénue sunglasses from the Dôen x Garrett Leight collab are the sleek alternative when you want something a touch more dramatic.
- Sailboats and signal flags on a silk scarf feel so right for coastal Italy. Tie it on your handbag, loop it around your ponytail, or wear it as a neckerchief with a simple white tee.
- Cashmere silk in a generous 140cm size makes this nautical scarf perfect as a wrap on the ferry to Capri or draped over shoulders at an evening aperitivo.
- Pale blue abstract swirls on this Pucci scarf are quintessentially Amalfi. I plan to tie it as a halter top over white linen pants for a lunch reservation.
- Packable and adorable, this crochet raffia bucket hat tucks right into your beach bag and keeps its shape. I'll be wearing it on boat days and wandering through lemon groves.
- My wide-brim straw hat from Peter Beaton is the most glamorous sun protection. That oversized silhouette looks amazing poolside or perched on a sunbed overlooking the sea.
- Liberty print pajamas are my travel indulgence, and this blue floral shorts set from Ann Mashburn is beautifully made. The soft cotton is heaven for warm Italian nights with the windows open.
- After a long day exploring, I want the softest pajamas waiting for me. This striped long set from Lake in pima cotton is cozy enough for air-conditioned hotel rooms.
